England-Germany 4-2 (1966)
the Beatles times. Played at home in England, the one and only cup won by England (also with a ghost goal, it was no goal but they deserved). In 1967 Noel Gallagher was born and, as he's a jinx, England didn't win any other cup of any kind anymore (it must be one of those Oasis mysteries-the curse, of my video). 46 years have passed. As he always blames other people, let's blame him for one thing.
There was really a curse with this cup, with all the thefts and dead people involved, even a dog who found it, then choked by his own lead.
2:51 the Queen in a sort of yellow dress... in some other videos it's orange (in other ones: blue, lol). As usual: nice hats, lol.
Funny they were using the Union Jack and not England flag... maybe they should consider doing that again.
Italy-Germany 4-3 (semifinals, 1970)
Italy-Germany 4-3 (semifinals, 1970)
the most famous football game in history: the epic Italia-Germania 4-3, but I wasn't born. My father was meeting Schnellinger at those times.
and as I named New Order @ Milan Heineken Jammin' Festival this summer (Noel too, as I predicted in my anticipatiiionnns) ...
the Pavarotti thing tune, lol .Of course, Noel Gulliver said we won in 2006 thanks to him. He should know that for us beating Germany is nothing new... No comment about the "this is the truth, right"... "his missus just happened to be there"...
a snooker! you don't get that with baseball ahaha
have a word, lol
Germany-Italy 1-3 (1982)
For the series: somewhere down the line, YOU're Italian... Yesterday the legendary goalkeeper Dino Zoff turned 70 years old, @ 40 years old he won the World Cup (classic image).
30 years ago this legendary game... with Italian Republic president Pertini and the King of Spain. Cabrini vs Schumacher (lol) failed a penalty, goals by Paolo Rossi (top goalscorer), then Marco Tardelli celebration is unforgettable, final goal from Alessandro Altobelli.
Argentina-England 2-1 (quarter finals, 1986)
the most famous goal... I mean the one scored with a hand... Maradona the "hand of God", or: the hand of thieves. Of course Maradona and Messi are great players but I think overrated. Maradona was using drugs in those years, and they didn't check him. Messi seems so great but when he plays for Argentina without a team as Barcelona playing for him, he's quite normal and didn't win anything.
Italy-England 2-1 (1990, 3rd and 4th place final)
here I was a kid. Italy vs England games are quite rare, there should be more (I remember in 1997 @ Wembley a 0-1 with Zola scoring, times when he was playing in England for Chelsea).
They both didn't lose any game, out because of penalties (vs Argentina and Germany). There's also a young Pretty Green fan Paolo Maldini :)
England won the Fair Play award (fair play NME award? not credible anymore, lol), and the final images of this video with the "ola" (Mexican) wave are remembered as the best ones from the World Cup Italia 1990. Schillaci was the top goalscorer.
named in the video: Pavarotti and paparazzo, lol.
Ireland-Italy 1-0, Norway-Italy 0-1, Mexico-Italy 1-1 (group stage, 1994)
funny video. Now 4 World Cups but not the richest league. In this period we were travelling again on the tour bus (my first Oasis gig: Nottingham, Rock City 1994), there were many girls on our bus and we had a big surprise when a bus full of British people (men) overtook us, all of them smiling and waving their hands (why so much kindness? :) but suddenly they turned and showed us their nude arses ahahaha it was a shock, then someone told us it's a typical joke, lol. Maybe typical for "pub teams" spending £7,000 as Noel...
It was another "shock of the flashing" ahaha as Liam's Patsy Kensit "flashing tits" @ Sanremo festival in Italy.
We laughed a lot but I preferred Patsy :)
Italy vs Ireland again in June, with Milan hilarious Trapattoni, Ireland's manager.
Spain-Italy 1-2 (quarter finals, 1994)
we watched this in England while travelling from Newquay (surfers paradise :), Cornwall... Noel Gallagher would say: the fucking beach boys?! lol) to London, on a tourbus as those in Almost Famous, it took ages and we were sick (thank God Noel there were some delicious English biscuits...Noel Gallagher would say: everybody hates the English biscuits, lol).
Video-documentary in Madrid, Plaza Mayor, we were there in the same year, unforgettable city.
At the end Tassotti, now AC Milan 2nd manager, "elbowed" Luis Enrique, now Roma manager.
Baggio scored unforgettable goals taking Italy to the final (but he failed a penalty at the end), he was the best player in the world at those times.
I remember there were English boys @ school mocking us: today we make Italians shoot penalty kicks...
England didn't even qualify for the World Cup, and in the next ones, Euro 1996, World Cup 1998 and 2006 they were out because of penalties... (as in 1990). Same for Italy in 1990, 1994 and 1998, but at least they were good in 2006. I think they should change that rule...it depends too much on luck, and causes heart attacks for the people.
The last 2 world champions, Spain vs Italy, again on Sunday 10 June 2012
(both Italy and England recently won against them).
Argentina-England 2-2 (1998, round of 16)
Beckham sent off, red card for the Spice Boy. England out.
South Korea-Italy 2-1 (2002, round of 16)
craziest game ever. Look at Trapattoni during the video, a bit nervous ahahahaha
They were playing at home....... unfortunately, this costed us the world cup... it seemed all made to make Brazil win... when England was out, as usual, Noel dedicated the song Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
This referee Byron Moreno from Ecuador refused the greetings to Italy at the beginning (how come?). They scored the 1-1 at the end. And then there was still the "golden goal" rule, who scored first, won. The referee didn't give us a regular goal and sent off Totti when that could be a penalty for us. Look at Vieri showing his tongue to the referee ahaha. The Korean player scoring was one playing in Italy and after this he was sacked, lol.
The referee was arrested for drugs.
Germany-Italy 0-2 (semifinals, 2006 played in Germany)
still shivers... another Blues triumph.
As usual, Italy conquering Germany. Of course, Noel Gallagher said we won thanks to him.
England often difficulties vs Germany (apart from the 1-5 @ 2002 qualifying, and the World Cup won in 1966).
Klinsmann is now the Usa manager in today's game Italia-Usa.
For the final Italy-france we were at the Football English Pub with my bodyguards Beppe and Pippo, bouncers :) (and Kate Moss was not recognised by bouncers, lol), Italy world champion again. At the end there were people standing on chairs and tables, the atmosphere around the streets was unreal, as in a dream.
we were @ The Football English Pub where Liam was, after this I was walking around the pub, restless as Liam Gallagher onstage, lol. There was also a family from Leeds coming to Milan just for an event of cars, I was wearing an England red jersey and they saw me desperate so they consoled me and offered me everything to drink, lol. Too kind
(I must've learned this "strategy" from Noel the victim :)
When it's your team suffering from a ghost goal, then you see how it feels.
And that linesman was the same one flagging Rooney for an absurd offside, he was alone in front of the goalkeeper (only a few people talked about it), just a few minutes before this. England was growing and with that 2-2 the game would've changed.
Unlucky England, as usual (Argentina's Maradona "hand of God" in 1986, penalties in 1990, Euro 1996, 1998, 2006 vs Portugal). Without that mistake by the goalkeeper Green in England-Usa, they could have been first in the group and avoid Germany.
I could add more games
today's friendly games
Italy-USA: Italian communists couldn't avoid to make recognise themselves during the American anthem... thank God Noel the majority covered them, applauding.
Noel: them fucking communists... them fucking environmentalists and them fucking (pretty) greens... AKA what a rebel, lol
England and Italy both in white tonight, in every sense.
results of the friendlies:
England-Holland 2-3 (Capello missing, first game without him - England's first goal in offside)
Italy-Usa 0-1 (AC Milan Cassano missing... today's news is that he could play Euro 2012)
the recent England-world champion Spain 1-0 and England-Sweden 1-0 first time in 43 years, were a bit better...
