Tonight I was reading what Alan said about Amy Winehouse.
Some days ago I was watching again (in Italian) that film I was writing about, "High Fidelity", film about music, with the characters making their favourite “top 5” of everything.
But the main Top 5 throughout the film is the protagonist’s Top 5 love failures. And it’s funny, watch it if you never did.
I already wrote about my Top 5 of everything, but of course the film reminded me about my Top 5 love failures, lol. Of course they may not interest you, but I noticed that somehow they're Oasis-related.
The protagonist has got a problem with love in general, and he decides to meet those 5 girls again. He finds out that it wasn’t the girls leaving him (as he thought), and in some cases he sees that they weren’t so great persons as he used to idolise.
To me, more or less the same happened. No girl really left me, but when I find something is going wrong, it’s me leaving them. I think I’ve always done this because I don’t want to suffer for love.
And about idolising, it happens also with beauty: time flies and it’s almost impossible that some girl from the past becomes more beautiful, I found some and I was happy they weren’t with me anymore, lol. Of course this happens about me too, time waits for nobody.
And there’s something in the film I’ve always done: music compilations :). For girls too, as he does.
The protagonist thinks it’s like an art to learn… (there's a sort of metaphor there).
Two characters (a couple) in the film are called Charlie and Marco haha really, my name in Italian, how strange. Even stranger, ‘cause I know a (really special and mysterious, almost magical) pretty English girl from Quadrophenia Brighton, called Charlie (a sort of fucking genius), music expert (and especially fashion too) and she likes Beady Eye. I like her very much, she even calls me “Sunshine”, but it seems, sadly, that we won’t be together, there are some problems.
Charlie in the film is Catherine Zeta-Jones.
You know, a band as Oasis was (is) not only about music. It’s not like other bands. It’s something deep, touching everything of your life, from clothes to football, etc., they defined a generation. In their songs there were (are) our personalities, as we identified much in what they were saying. I know it sounds a bit stupid, but that's it, when you're young.
There are some people (haters) who even “categorize” us, the “Oasis fans”, “I hate Oasis fans”, etc., as if we had precise characteristics, a sort of racist hate towards us. But they say so because they think we like Oasis only (not true) and that we are angry people as the Gallaghers (not true, in fact not even the Gallaghers are angry people).
Of course I've had more than 5 love failures, lol (but I didn't have many girls, only a few). Here I take 5 of them, with 5 historical sentences they said (more or less) about Oasis (and of course they’re often on my mind), and I chose 5 Oasis songs for every girl. If they read, they clearly recognise themselves.
But first of all I dedicate this one to Charlie, as she's a fan of Amy Winehouse. I found this on my iPod, don't know how it's there, must be some magic.
Girl n.1) “You’ll see, when the next band comes out, you’ll forget about Oasis” (1997)
This was my first real girlfriend, that blonde with English Jaguar as car (“she looked just like a star in a Jaguar, she needs to lighten her load...”), who liked only 2 Oasis tunes at those times, Wonderwall and Don’t look back in anger. Too easy. As her, lol. Too easy girl (she would be happy to read this haha). This was the one leaving on a train on that 21 August 1997 when "Be Here Now" was published…
The new single to be published was Stand By Me, one of the b-sides was Going Nowhere (on a train), the other song naming a Jaguar.
14 long years have passed, and I’m still (and even much more) “madforit”.
Girl n.2) “The Oasis compilation you made for me, it’s sad” (1998) (with a face as to say: it sucks)
This was like one of the girls in the film. One that you don’t love much, so you don’t do great things. Here’s something about Oasis: many of their songs (written by Noel) have something sad inside, even some of those with a happy melody. Some suffering. Maybe that’s why today I dislike Noel’s solo work. Beady Eye are just fun.
Take me away
Girl n.3) “Oasis show a mentality I don’t want to show” (2001)
This was German. That kind of girls playing mind games who make you crazy. Really, there’s no need of these complicated girls, life is already too short and complicated. Enjoy life. So, show Oasis mentality...
here: Cigarettes&alcohol, featuring girls having fun
Girl n.4) “Oasis are really ugly. You’re so much more beautiful” (2007)
Lol. Ok, apart from the compliment (that is clearly so true haha), there was something wrong here: how can you say they’re ugly?! Especially Liam, they’re so pretty, lol ...and cool. We’ve always tried to imitate them in our style, haircut and all, and we managed to do it. We are “like” them. This relationship couldn’t work.
(You've got) the heart of a star
"...don't be ashamed of your bones and your blisters, so come on come on my brothers and sisters...
Girl n.5) “I don’t go crazy for meeting these celebrities” (2009)
And this was one who liked Oasis. Well, I could agree about that. And I remember I was discovering so many things in common with this girl, “I think you’re the same as me” :), as Live Forever says. But there’s always something going wrong (sometimes, as in this case, it’s other people’s fault… “people who will be the death of you and me”…).
So now, we have to go crazy for meeting these celebrities.

Lyla ('cause the 5th girl likes this one)
I clearly have “a problem with love”, as the protagonist had. But who doesn’t really have a problem with that? “Love was such an easy game to play…now I need a place to hide away…”
What could all of this post mean? Maybe that for me Oasis are so important that I could get on well only with a girl who loves them. Definitely maybe.
Conclusion:
