There's a lack of news as in the summer over here, Beady Eye are on a little holiday (they're always coming around here), so here I come, here I come, here I come :) just call me the rollaaaaa... the encyclopedic use of Oasisblues is back :). Here's one of my famous compilations, there's something even Noel likes here... but it's more what he doesn't like (oh strange :). Haters say the Gallaghers and their fans listen to Oasis only, but of course it's not true: we listen to everything, that's why then we say they are the best ones.
Some time ago I wrote a post about Italian songs in the 60s, though I wasn't born yet. In the previous post I was a bit nostalgic about the 90s, with those Suede tunes. Here's a post about the Eighties, but there will be one about the 70s and 90s too. About the first decade of 2000, it seems quite shitty, with time almost everything is getting worse. Very often the 80s are considered the worst decade for music, also because for the first time it wasn't influenced by the Beatles (strange, 'cause John Lennon had just died and almost nobody was inspired by him), as also Paolo Hewitt said, and music was great again in the 90s when it was influenced by them again (thanks to Oasis and company). But I think the worst one is 2000-2009, really a few important things, also because now we know more about music (so the kids are gonna realize that, soon or later), and my favourite are probably the 70s (Led Zeppelin, Queen and company).
At first, I remember it was cool to listen to this music in the 80s, because it was in English language and it was the older brothers who owned that, so if you were following them, you could feel to be older, almost adult. Funny 'cause when you listen now, I'm not saying it's childish music but it's quite simple, light and "just for fun", not really deep, not complicated. Because they were definitely happy times, with no worries at all. Today we're all completely fucked, lol. And if you think you're not, you will be more than the others, classic Murphy's law.
The key instrument was the keyboard (sorry for the pun :), also used much by Beady Eye today.
For an Oasis fan it's necessary to know everything also about this decade, 'cause it was just before them, and as it wasn't influenced by the Beatles while Oasis were totally influenced by them, we can see there was a reaction.
As I was saying in some posts, when I was about 7 years old I've become a huge music fan, following the charts, it was quite commercial stuff so today it's funny to see what we were listening, the music getting electronic (but that started in the 70s, and also the disco music). These are songs that will always remain in our hearts, because it's the first music we listened and usually the memories as children are quite sweet. About me, they especially remind me of school times and holidays in the mountains, the first times I was in love with little girls :). The other day I wanted to dedicate the video I made about AC Milan history to a schoolmate who is not with us anymore, but these songs remind me even more of those times.
Today there are still bands sounding a bit like 80s bands, for example Glasvegas, or another band I used to like, Keane.
If you can help me: there are 2 other videos I want to add but I don't remember the titles, I'm sure they were from the 80s: in one there was something about an American flag and the Army, and the other was in the garden of a villa, they were very popular songs but I forgot the names, I'm getting old :)
